Lot Essay

According to the Archives of OMEGA SA, the present watch was produced in October 1967 and delivered to Venezuela.

The present “Ed White” Speedmaster can certainly be considered one of the most charismatic examples in the world. The dial has aged to a warm tropical hue matching the original aluminum bezel, which has faded to match the dial. Notably, the bottom part of the bezel has faded to the point where it has reversed and the numerals are darker then the background, almost reminiscent of the bezel insert on a Rolex “Root Beer” GMT-Master. It is a unique aspect of aging we cannot recall seeing on another example.

Furthermore, beyond the beautiful dial and insert, the watch has an unpolished case, which is an extreme rarity for any vintage Speedmaster featuring a case with straight lugs.

For those seeking to collect the most spectacular, beautiful, original chronographs and sport watches, this is a watch worthy of intense pursuit.
