To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus, Patek Philippe released the reference 5711/1A in 2006 to great acclaim. Made in homage to the original “Jumbo” reference 3700/1A the 5711/1A draws striking similarities in design to its original inspiration but also offers a modern update that has made this watch one of the most desirable of all current production watches from any maker. When the 5711/1A was released in 2006 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus, it was an instant success at a retail price of $17,000. The new version featured a case size 1mm larger than its predecessor, and a three-part rather than a two-part case. This example features and -010 dial code representing a black dial (noir trame).
It is estimated that less than 3000 examples of this reference have been made and only very few have been made bearing the signature of Tiffany & Co. To the best of our knowledge the present watch has never before been offered in public.
