Love bug

Our 1-13 December sale Cufflinks for the Modern Gentleman features more than 150 pairs of stylish cufflinks from Asprey, Bulgari, Cartier, Tiffany, Verdura and more. This pair of gold and enamel ladybirds is perfect for dapper dressers who appreciate a playful splash of colour.

Dazzling starbursts

This vibrant starburst jewellery set comprises a brooch and matching earrings, featuring an eye-catching combination of turquoise and sapphires, accented with 121 diamonds. The colours are dazzling, ranging from bright white to light and dark blue. Featuring 18k white gold settings, the design is mid-century, and captures the period’s trend for matching suites of jewellery.

Wear your heart on your sleeve

This mischievous set of cufflinks by Parisian brand Lorenz Bäumer features hearts shaped from pink tourmaline, each joined by a gold chain to a diamond and gold arrow. The perfect accessory for die-hard romantics and aspiring heartthrobs.

Loved by celebrities

The Constance bag was created more than 50 years ago by Hermès designer Catherine Chaillet, and has been a constant favourite of socialites and celebrities ever since. At 18cm, this bold pink edition is the perfect accessory for day or night, with gold hardware bringing a touch of glamour.

An Art Deco classic

Although this bangle is contemporary, its design is taken directly from Cartier’s Art Deco archives, reflecting the timeless appeal of its classic pieces. Like other admired Cartier bangles, this example is accompanied by a fastening tool, which allows the bangle to be ‘locked’ onto its owner.

Parisian chic

Made in the early 20th century, these Cartier Belle Époque cufflinks come in 18k yellow gold with delicate enamel detailing. The double link design finishes in a circular plaque, finished with an intricate motif in lavender, blue and white. Each cufflink is signed Cartier Paris.

Petite perfection

Hermès’ famous Kelly bag comes in several sizes, but the 20cm edition is considered the original ‘Mini Kelly’. A hit with fans of vintage fashion, this edition combines an exceptionally rare pleated silk body with a leather trim, in elegant black with gold hardware, and would serve ideally for a seamless transition from day to night.

A New York minute

Jaeger-Lecoultre created the ‘Reverso’ watch for British military officers in India, who had complained about mallets breaking their watch faces during games of polo. The design was the first to counter the problem, featuring a reversible case unlike anything watchmakers had made before. This example is thought to be one of only two to feature an engraving of the New York skyline on the reverse.

A ravishing Rolex

The Rolex Daytona reference 16520 debuted in 1988, and was the first to house an automatic movement — in this case, a heavily modified version of the Zenith El Primero movement. The new edition was an immediate success and came in a larger case with a sapphire crystal in stainless steel, yellow gold and, for the first time, two-tone yellow gold and steel. Made in 1991, this model features a beautiful white dial and partially black registers, with ‘Daytona’ written in red text.

Mad Men style

A vintage classic, these earrings from Van Cleef & Arpels feature 34 diamonds arranged in an artfully arching scroll mounting around cultured pearls, each measuring nearly 10 mm. Big and bold, they are perfect for channelling mid-century Mad Men style.

The Patek Philippe Nautilus

First introduced in 1976, the Nautilus is now one of Patek Philippe’s most revered models. Inspired by the portholes on maritime vessels, good examples of the design, like this Reference 3700, are increasingly hard to find. This edition is offered in the Nautilus’s 40th anniversary year; made in steel, it is the perfect combination of sporty and dressy.

‘The most collectible handbag of all time’

A matte Himalaya Nilo Crocodile Birkin 25 bag. Hermès, 2012. 10 x 8 x 5 in. Estimate: $70,000-90,000. This lot is offered in Handbags and Accessories on 1 December 2016-12 December 2016 at Christie’s in New York, Rockefeller Plaza

The most collectible handbag of all time in the most petite size — this matte Himalaya Crocodile Birkin is so-called because the delicate colouration resembles the snowy mountaintops of the Himalayas, making it a fitting addition to any winter wardrobe. For serious handbag collectors, this represents the pinnacle of all Hermès models.
