Attributed to Achille Visconti, perhaps the same prosector of Milan’s Ospedale Maggiore who first discovered the lung condition silicosis, the present volume covers subjects ranging from barometers to the refraction of light, fully illustrated with neat sketches and a particularly charming pen and wash drawing of a hot air balloon.
