Lot Essay

A painting of a similar subject, entitled Landscape of the White Houses, which the artist calls a sister painting was exhibited in the first solo exhibition of Alan Reynolds' work at Kettle's Yard, Cambridge in 2003. (see M. Harrison, Alan Reynolds, Kettle's Yard, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, 2003, no. 2, illustrated).
