This image is not recorded in Phillips, Photographic Work of Kertész in France, CUNY, 1985 and hitherto unpublished. The most well-known image from this series showing a close-up view (fig.2), is widely published and recorded in the above survey.

Lot Essay

This is the only known vintage print of this image. Aside from the present lot, only two other prints, both printed in the 1950s, are known.
