Christie’s live sale of Photographs totaled $2,193,625. The sale was led by Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924, one of Man Ray’s best known and celebrated works, which sold for $475,000. Additional top lots of the sale include Lewis Wickes Hine’s Mechanic and Steam Pump, 1921, which realized $275,000; Peter Hujar’s Self-Portrait, 1975, which achieved $93,750.

Ansel Adams and the American West, the online, monographic sale focusing on the work of one of the most renowned and beloved 20th century photographs, totaled $806,250. The sale was 100% sold by lot and 153% hammer above low estimate. The top lot of the sale was Moon and Half Dome, Yosemite National Park, California, 1960, which achieved $106,250, more than double its high estimate of $50,000. Additional top lots of the sale include The Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, 1942, which sold for $56,250 and Bridal Veil Fall, Yosemite Valley, c. 1936, which achieved $52,500.
