Christie’s Luxury Auctions in LondonHandbags Online: The London Edit Open for bidding 9 to 23 November 2021On view 18 to 22 November 2021

LONDON – Christie’s Handbags Online: The London Edit  will present the rarest and most coveted handbags, luggage and accessories. The online auction will be open for bidding from 9 to 23 November, with highlights available to view at Christie’s King Street from 18 to 22 November.

Leading the auction is a rare Matte Béton Alligator, White Togo & Swift Leather Faubourg Sellier Hermès Birkin 20 (estimate: £80,000 – 100,000). The style is modelled after the façade of the Hermès flagship at 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, and comes complete with orange awnings and a clochette designed after the house's iconic orange shopping bag. A new colourway for 2021 and released in very limited numbers, it is the first time a white Faubourg Sellier has been offered at auction at Christie’s.

Making its London auction debut is a Fauve Barénia & Bog Oak Kellywood 22 (estimate: £60,000 - 80,000). This sought-after limited edition Kelly pairs modernity of design in its striking chevron motif with the expert craftsmanship and history of Hermès.

The sale will present an Exceptional, Shiny Cocoan Porosus Crocodile Birkin 35 with 18k Yellow Gold and Yellow Sapphire Hardware (estimate: £50,000 - 70,000), alongside the Himalaya Kelly 25 (estimate: £60,000 – 80,000), the Himalaya Birkin 25 (estimate: £70,000 – 90,000), Himalaya Birkin 30 (estimate: £60,000 – 80,000), the Himalaya Birkin 30 (estimate: £60,000-80,000) and the Himalaya Birkin 35 (estimate: £60,000 – 80,000). For collectors of Hermès, the Himalaya signifies the superior artistry of the Hermès atelier. The varying sizes are specifically sought-out by handbag connoisseurs to complete their collections, and the delicate gradation of the colour of smoky greys into a pearly whites, which resemble the snow-capped Himalayas, is unique to each individual handbag.
