Christie’s Proudly Presents An Unprecedented Selection Of Louis Vuitton Trunks From A Prominent Japanese Collector
Hong Kong – Christie’s is honoured to have been entrusted with an extraordinary selection of 13 Louis Vuitton trunks from a prominent Japanese collector, which stands as one of the most masterfully curated assemblages of Louis Vuitton trunks to come to market in recent years. These exceptional trunks will debut at the Handbags and Accessories Spring and Autumn live auctions in Hong Kong this year, with an estimated total value exceeding HK$3 Million/ US$430,000.
Carefully amassed over two decades, each object in this collection embodies the collector’s meticulous eye and his discerning taste, his appreciation of craftsmanship and tradition, and his long-term friendship with Patrick Louis Vuitton – the great-great-grandson of Louis Vuitton and the maison’s former Head of Special Orders department. Some of the trunks in the collection, including the Night Picnic Astronomy Telescope Monogram Trunk, Watch Monogram Trunk, and the Japanese Tea Ceremony Damier Trunk, are unique pieces by special order, representing the fruition of Patrick Louis Vuitton’s innovative concepts and the brand’s extraordinary artistry, that fully catered to the specific needs of the collector’s habits and lifestyle.
