HANDBAG & ACCESSORIES SPRING AUCTION HIGHLIGHTS

Hong Kong – Christie’s Hong Kong’s Handbags & Accessories Department is delighted to present an array of exquisite collectable pieces currently on the market at our live auction on 23 May 2022 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

A total of 190 lots will be offered this spring season, ranging from elusive masterpieces and the latest limited edition Hermès, Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton handbags, accessories, and lifestyle pieces, to an unprecedented selection of eight Louis Vuitton trunks from a prominent Japanese Collector, which includes a rare FIFA World Cup Official Match Ball Monogram Trunk, a renowned Stokowski Secretaire Monogram Trunk, and a unique Night Picnic Astronomy Telescope Monogram Trunk designed by Mr. Patrick Louis Vuitton together with the private collector (dedicated press release here).

One of the highlights this season is the adorable Limited Edition Framboise Swift Leather & Osier Picnic Birkin 25 With Palladium Hardware (featured on cover; estimate: HK$400,000 – 500,000 /US$52,000 – 64,000). With a fresh Framboise red shade, this lovely Picnic Birkin is surely one of the most coveted pieces of the blossoming Spring season. Not to be missed in the sale are the “holy grail” Hermès Himalaya crocodile handbags, including A Rare, Matte White Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Birkin 25 With Palladium Hardware (Estimate: HK$1,000,000 – 1,500,000 /US$130,000 – 190,000), A Rare, Matte White Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Retourné Kelly 25 With Palladium Hardware (Estimate: HK$1,000,000 – 1,500,000 / US$130,000 – 190,000), and A Rare, Matte White Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Constance 24 With Palladium Hardware (Estimate: HK$800,000 – 1,200,000 /US$110,000 – 150,000), which is going under the hammer for the very first time at Christie’s.
