London – On 5 October – James Bond Day – Christie’s and EON Productions’ two part official charity sale Sixty Years of James Bond concluded in style, with Part I and Part II realising a total of £6,874,494/ $7,393,745/ €7,688,255, which will benefit over 45 charities. Following the success of the Live Evening Auction, Part I, which realised £6,103,500/ $6,506,331/ €6,799,299 on 28 September, the Online Sale, Part II has exceeded all expectations achieving £770,994/ $887,414/ €888,956, five times the pre-sale estimate. Comprising a total of 61 lots overall, which were 100% sold, spanning the 25 films to date, the sale as a whole featured vehicles, watches, costumes, props, posters, memorabilia and experiences. This result surpasses not only all previous official Christie’s 007 sale totals, but also the combined total for all three previous sales (£4,812,525 / $7,196,146 / €6,092,361; for the breakdown please see Notes to Editors), bringing the grand total for the four official charity auctions to £11,687,019/ $14,589,891/ €13,780,616. The auction vendors, led by EON Productions, are donating 100% of their auction proceeds to their nominated charitable causes. Christie’s is also donating 100% of the profitable proceeds from the buyer’s premium.
