New York—Americana Week sales totaled $12,178,275 with active in-room, phone, and online participation. The top lot of the week was Richard Clague (1821-1873), North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain at Mandeville, from The Jay P. Altmayer Family Collection, which realized $1,627,500, setting a new world auction record for the artist. Strong sell through rates were achieved across all auctions, with average 82% sold by lot and 88% sold by value, and notable results for the single owner sale Palmetto Hall: The Jay P. Altmayer Family Collection, which totaled $5,364,625 with 92% sold by lot and 99% sold by value.
Overall, six auction records were achieved, including artist records for Richard Clague (1821-1873), William Hawkins (1895-1989), Raymond Coins (1904-1998), Sister Gertrude Morgan (1900-1980), and Jimmy Lee Sudduth (1910-2007), as well as a new record for a Chinese Export Snuffbox.
