PHILANTHROPIC COLLABORATION ACHIEVES TOP PRICE OF SALE
- Part of Istanbul Calling, Beauford Delaney’s portrait of James Baldwin led the sale, realising £1,026,000, setting a new world auction record for the artist
- Istanbul Calling realised a total to date of £1,581,660, with 9 further works being offered in First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online
- Istanbul Calling featured 23 artworks donated by artists with proceeds being used by The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), Turkey’s leading contemporary arts foundation, to launch their new İKSV Young Artists Fund
- İKSV Young Artists Fund will receive 100% of proceeds of sale. For each artist’s work sold in the auction, İKSV will pay 25% of the proceeds from the Fund
- A group of work sold to benefit Parley for the Oceans realised £334,908, highlighted by Flora Yukhnovich’s Study (£50,400)
- Ten works were sold to benefit CLEFT, achieving a total of £139,860. Matthew Krishanu’s Boys on a Rock sold for £20,160, a world auction record for the artist
