Important American Furniture, Folk Art & Decorative Arts totaled $5,416,400/£3,304,004/€3,953,972. The top lot was a Chippendale Carved Mahogany Scallop-Top Tea Table, which realized $905,000.

Andrew Holter, Head of American Furniture and Decorative Arts, said, “Today’s solid results underscore collectors’ continued appetite for works of exceptional provenance and quality. The sale witnessed particularly competitive bidding for the works from the sale’s private collections, highlighted by Property from the Estate of Eric Martin Wunsch, which realized $2.2 million, including the sale’s top lot, a Chippendale Carved Mahogany Scallop-Top Tea Table which realized $908,000. Favorites from the Collection of Kristina Barbara Johnson, also performed well, totaling $855,375. Chippendale furniture fetched strong prices throughout the sale, comprising seven of the top ten lots.  We look forward to the conclusion of Americana Week on January 27, with the sale of Chinese Export Art.”
