This March, the Post-War and Contemporary Day auction will present works by internationally recognised artists, such as Bridget Riley, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Banksy, as well as emerging contemporary artists like Claire Tabouret and Kudzanai-Violet Hwami.
We are delighted to offer property from the Mireille and James Lévy collection, featuring works by A. R. Penck, Sam Francis and Arnulf Rainer amongst others. Undeterred by academic classifications the couple told Architectural Digest in March 1987 that “what most interests us is that these artists are witnesses to their time.”
Christie’s is also honoured to announce our collaboration in support of a global Covid-19 response through the arts; specifically to address the growing mental health crisis. The Future is Unwritten Healing Arts Initiative is produced in partnership with CULTURUNNERS as part of the World Health Organization’s Solidarity Series of Events. Several artworks (lots 482-486) featured in the Post-War and Contemporary Day auction will beneft this cause.
If you’d like to learn more about a work, our specialists are on hand for consultations and virtual viewing appointments. All of our live auctions are enabled for remote bidding from desktop or mobile app via the Christie’s LIVE™ real-time bidding platform.
