"Christie’s Important Watches auction generated much attention from enthusiasts from the world over. Patek Philippe and independent watchmakers dominated the top selling lots. An extremely rare 1947 Patek Philippe stainless steel chronograph along with two incredibly lightweight Richard Mille Tonneau-shaped Skeletonised Tourbillon watches attracted considerable interest. Highlighting the art of minature enamelling, a Patek Philippe pocket watch reached double its high estimate. The auction signals that unique and rare horological timepieces, including modern and vintage watches, continue to be desired by discerning collectors,” said Frederic Watrelot, Vice President of Christie’s Asia and Head of Christie’s Hong Kong Watches Department.
