British Drawings & Watercolours

As the market leader for British Drawings & Watercolours, Christie’s is dedicated to offering the finest works on paper from the 17th to the 19th centuries, spanning a number of schools and movements and representing the rich artistic tradition of Great Britain.

Early British drawings and watercolours — including pieces by Turner, Gainsborough and Constable — are offered alongside Old Master drawings twice a year in New York and London. Victorian and British Impressionist examples are also offered alongside paintings and sculpture twice a year in London, leading to exceptional prices for Pre-Raphaelite masters such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones. British works on paper can also be found in our regular Interiors sales, and frequently in collection sales.

With a combined experience of more than 70 years in the field, our specialists are committed to seeking out works of historic provenance and academic importance. Based in our offices and salerooms around the world, they are always available for free and confidential valuations or advice.
