In 1911 Munnings moved from Swainsthorpe, near Norwich to the artists' colony at Lamorna in Cornwall. He continued to indulge his passions for racing and hunting, attending the primitive race meetings at St Buryan and hunting with the Western Foxhounds. In this exceptionally bright and lively watercolour of a local point-to-point, Munnings captures the excitement as the hunting participants take a bank, followed by an enthusiastic crowd of spectators.
