According to Janis Conner and Joel Rosenkranz, "The figure of Night, 'deliciously languid, opulent with the opulence of sleep and dreams,' is one of Korbel's most successful compositions." There are several versions of Night including a 1920 polychrome, an 8¼ inch long bronze sketch modeled in 1921, which is in the collection of the Cranbrook Academy of Art Museum, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and at least two casts of a one-half life-size version also done in 1921.
Additionally there are two life-size marble versions based on the bronze, the first was commissioned by the Nicholas F. Bradys for their Manhasset, Long Island estate, Inisfada. The second, completed in 1933, was purchased by fellow sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington for Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina."
