Lot Essay

James Iliff, a school friend of Freud's at Bryanston, studied at the Royal Academy of Music under Harold Craxton, John Craxton's father, and also lived with the Craxton family in St John's Wood, London. Iliff went on to teach at the Royal Academy of Music.
