AN ENAMELLED GOLD CROWN AND CHAIN
EACH APPARENTLY UNMARKED, THE CROWN POSSIBLY LATE 16TH/EARLY 17TH CENTURY
The crown made up of red, green and blue enamel on gold, the associated chain made up of 12 Maltese crosses each divided by two strapwork links, terminating in a carnelian set in an oval with two arms and engraved in Greek on the back
The crown 1 7/8 in. (4.5 cm.) high, the chain 34¼ in. (87 cm.) long
The Greek inscription translates as 'Bless me Lord'.
