Accompanied by an Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives confirming the date of manufacture as 1993 and its subsequent sale on February 25th of the following year.
According to our research the present watch has never before appeared at auction.
Patek Philippe first introduced the reference 3939H in 1992 but the first piece was not officially listed until 1995. This complicated timepiece is exemplary of the master craftsmanship of Patek Philippe in that it not only consists of a total of 336 parts but it also houses both minute repeating and tourbillon functions within a small case, classified by the caliber RTO 27 PS.
Approximately 100 pieces are known to have been produced, with about 30 to 40 examples in platinum. The present watch represents one of approximately only 9 pieces known to the market.
The first example of this reference number, movement no. 1903000, is illustrated in Huber and Banbery, Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Volume 2, Second Edition, p. 330, pls. 484a-c.
