The following four lots, 12 to 15, represent a rare selection of the iconic Rolex Oyster Cosmograph Daytona reference 6263 and 6265 models, according to literature launched in the early 1970s and in production until 1987. Although all feature the prominent Oyster cases with screw down chronograph push buttons, they vary in regards to the bezel and the dial colour schemes. In fact, reference 6263 was generally fitted with the black insert on the bezel, whereas reference 6265 was intended to be equipped with the stainless steel engraved bezel. Connoisseur's eyes will however discover many more subtle differences in the smallest details of the dials, most notably depicting variations on the red "Daytona" writing, varying in font, size and brightness. The watches are furthermore preserved in very good overall condition. The models are described and illustrated in Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pp. 328 - 335 and pp. 336 - 349.

Cal. 727 nickel-finished lever movement, 17 jewels, the black dial with applied silvered baton numerals with luminous accents, luminous hands, three subsidiary white engine-turned dials indicating constant seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours registers, the tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case with black bezel calibrated for 200 units per hour, screw back and screw down crown, two round screw down chronograph buttons in the band, stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet and clasp, case, dial and movement signed
