This watch is one of the most attractive references 1463 in stainless steel to be offered in public in recent years. Its desirability resides in the exclusive combination of the stainless steel case, the highly attractive two-tone silvered dial and retailer's signature, the stainless steel Gay Frères bracelet, further enhanced by the original condition and freshness to the market. Never been offered in public before, it is the only reference 1463 with such a two-tone silvered dial signed by Freccero and with applied baton and Arabic numerals known to exist to date.
Reference 1463 was launched in 1940 and remained in production until 1965. The majority was cased in yellow gold; examples in stainless steel are exceedingly rare. According to research, less than 15 examples of a reference 1463 in stainless steel fitted with a two-tone silvered dial have been offered in public to date.
