Cal. 797 gilt-finished jewelled lever movement, the black dial with luminous baton and Arabic numerals, luminous hands, outer telemetre and inner spiral tachymetre scales, two subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and 30 minutes register, in large circular case with flat bezel, snap on back with engraved inscription ISTUS 1937 Internationaler Segelflugmodell-Wettbewerb am Hundsheimerkogel Ehrenpreis gestifted vom Bundesminister für Unterricht, chronograph buttons in the band and in crown, case numbered, dial and movement signed

According to the engraved inscription on the back of its case, the present watch was the prize of honour at the ISTUS 1937 International Model Glider Contest at the Hundsheimerkogel near Vienna, donated by the Federal Minister of Education.

ISTUS, the "International Study Commission for Soaring Flight", was founded in 1930.
