Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1951 and its subsequent sale on 17 December 1951. It has never been offered at auction before and is thought to be one of 13 examples of reference 2459 to appear in public to date.

Manufacture of reference 2459 was launched in 1950. The first series, such as the present watch, featured a calibre 12'''120 movement, the second series calibre 12'''400.
