The Corner of the Sofa (No. 3): two states (B. 16)
two soft-ground and aquatints, circa 1879, on wove paper and laid paper with unidentified watermark respectively, experimental impressions, Breeskin's first and second states (of three), both with margins, surface soiling, occasional soft handling creases and slight rippling, hinge and glue remains along the reverse of the right margin edges (with associated skinning), both with soiling on the reverse, (first state) with pale scattered foxing, R. Hartshorne's inkstamp at the reverse of the lower right image (showing through), the lower margin edge slightly uneven, (second state) with areas of stray blue ink in places, occasional stray black printing ink in the margins, pale time staining, otherwise both in good condition
