drypoint, circa 1891, on laid paper, Breeskin's fifth state (of seven), signed in pencil, annotated 'epreuve d'essai' (the edition was 25, Breeskin notes that Cassatt may have incorrectly inscribed prints later in life), with full margins, a diagonal crease at the center of the image (across her lap), a diagonal crease at the upper right image corner, the R. Hartshorne inkstamp at the reverse of the lower right image (showing through), a small hole in the center left margin, pale mat staining, a few creases at the lower left margin corner, glue remains along the upper sheet edge, soiling in the upper margin, otherwise in good condition
