drypoint plus the preparatory drawing in pencil, circa 1891, on Vanderley and thin wove paper respectively, the print Breeskin's only state, a fine impression with strong burr, both signed in pencil (the drawing initialed 'M.C'), the print annotated 'état,' with full margins (deckle along all sides, slightly uneven) and the full sheet respectively, the print with the palest light- and mat staining, minor surface soiling (primarily at the margin edges), rippling throughout, occasional soft handling creases, a few unobtrusive foxmarks, the R. Hartshorne inkstamp at the reverse of the lower left image (slightly showing through), a printing crease running the length of the sheet in the left and upper margin, a few short paper imperfections in the upper right margin, hinge remains along the reverse of the upper margin edge (slightly showing through), the drawing with minor surface soiling (particularly at the sheet edges), the R.
