Lot Essay

Clarence Kerr Chatterton spent many of his summers at the artists' colony of Ogunquit, Maine depicting scenes of the leisure class on holiday. Regatta at Kennebunkport and Fair Days are exemplary of the artist's sun-filled, vividly colored paintings of the 1920s.

This painting is recorded as no. 195 in the Chapellier Galleries inventory of works by C.K. Chatterton.
