Designed as a gold wirework owl, the body set with a cushion-shaped diamond, weighing 21.56 carats, to the circular-cut emerald eyes and marquise-cut sapphire beak, mounted in 18k gold and white gold, 2.5 cm long, 1950s, in original Friedländer fitted cream case
Accompanied by report no. 16168864 dated 18 June 2007 from the Gemological Institute of America stating that the diamond is H colour, I1 clarity

Lot Essay

This charming owl mount was designed by Friedländer in the 1950s for the cushion-shaped diamond pendant which originally hung from a brooch belonging to Princess Henckel von Donnersmarck and which was designed as the family coat-of-arms.
