LATE 19TH CENTURY
Made for a first rank civil official, embroidered in the center with a crane alighted on a rock above turbulent waves and a lishui stripe, facing the sun and surrounded by the wufu suspending peaches and ribbon-tied wan emblems as they fly amidst lingzhi-shaped clouds, within a lotus and angular scroll border, all picked out in turquoise, blue, pink, red, purple, yellow and white and edged with couched gold thread on a black silk ground
11¾ x 12 1/8 in. (29.8 x 30.9 cm.), framed
