Both pictures are likely to be copies after a lost original by a pupil of Rembrandt, possibly Salomon Koninck (Amsterdam 1609-1656), as Prof. Werner Sumowski argues (see W. Sumowski, Gemälde der Rembrandt Schüler, Landau, 1983, III, p. 1645, no. 1100, illustrated on p. 1674).
