AN ANTIQUE MULTI-GEM AND ENAMEL PENDANT WATCH WITH CHATELAINE, BY BOUCHERON
Comprising a highly ornate, sculpted gold, enamel and diamond chatelaine, the top with an openwork celestial globe surmounting an hourglass, flanked by scrolls and maidens lounging on griffins, each suspending a pearl drop, the center depicting Apollo riding a chariot drawn by four rearing stallions with a diamond sunrise, joined by an enamel and multi-gem scrolling link of mythological creatures and a gold female face, suspending a watch, of gilt-finished lever movement, the white circular dial with gilt hands, black Roman numerals, and subsidiary seconds, the reverse depicting a sculpted gold female goddess and serpents with ruby and diamond stars, mounted in 18k gold and silver, (watch caseback inscribed "7/83/X"), circa 1875, 5 x 2 x 1/4 ins., with French assay marks and importation marks, in its original Boucheron brown leather fitted case
