The present watch is the third example of the limited edition of 50 pieces made exclusively in platinum, hand-skeletonized by Armin Strom, and launched in 1994 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the first man to walk on the moon during the celebrated Apollo XI mission.
On 21 July 1969, Neil Armstrong wore a Speedmaster on his wrist while becoming the first human to walk on the surface of the moon, pronouncing the memorable words "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" as he dropped from the ladder of his spacecraft to make the first human footprint on the lunar surface.
