Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial, raised indexes in yellow gold and monogram "B.G." on the case back in 1928 and its subsequent sale on 29 December 1934. It has never been offered in public before and is believed to be one of only two examples of the exceedingly rare reference 186 known to have survived to date.

Although, according to Patek Philippe's archives, the present watch was sold with a leather strap, the gold cord bracelet and especially the gold buckle stamped Gay Frères can be dated from the same period.
