Lot Essay

In his images of young priests, Giacomelli shows an unexpected, light-hearted aspect of these holy men, laughing and enjoying leisure time in the seminary courtyard. Of this series, Giacomelli states, 'I found a previously unfamiliar dimension; I discarded the conventional rules in my treatment of the subject, to reveal the naked man.' (quoted in Crawford, p.222)
