Lot Essay

This necessaire relates to two examples applied with nearly identical pastes and pink garnets and combining gold and gilt-metal in the manner of James Cox. One sold in these Rooms, 26 October 2007, lot 29, and another sold Sotheby's Geneva, May 18, 1995, lot 20.
