Set with a cushion-shaped alexandrite weighing 11.39 carats within a brilliant and baguette-cut diamond surround to the fluted platinum hoop, circa 1955, ring size 5.5
With maker's mark EM for Meister
Accompanied by report no. 49486 dated 20 September 2007 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that the alexandrite is of Ceylon origin, with no indications of any treatment and with a strong colour-change from green in daylight to purplish-red in incandescent light.

With an appendix dated 26 September 2007 stating that the alexandrite 'exhibits an impressive weight (11.39 cts) and purity, combined with a very pleasant shape and cutting style. Its colour-change is strong and the green as well as the red colour appears clearly...Alexandrites of similar quality are rare and the present gemstone is outstanding in its class'
