Further Details
Accompanied by a handwritten letter from Diana, Princess of Wales, dated 13th August 1997, stating "Dearest Rita, This necklace was made for you & comes with so much love to a very special lady with an extraordinary gift....from x Diana x
Rita Rogers, perhaps the UK's best known medium, met the late Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1994. They became friends, speaking often in the intervening years and shortly before her death in 1997, Diana gave Rita this necklace.
Unable to wear it any longer because of extensive surgery to her neck, Rita Rogers has decided to sell the necklace rather than to bequeath it to one of her four daughters. A donation from the proceeds will also be given to local hospices, in memory of the Princess.
Rita has said "Diana was a dear friend who I miss greatly. But she wasn't sentimental about possessions, and I know she wouldn't want her gift to cause a problem between my girls when I'm gone, so it is with great reluctance that I have decided to sell it and use the proceeds to good effect"
Rita Rogers no longer works fulltime as a medium, but has written four books - From One World to Another, Soul Mates, Mysteries and Learning to Live Again, all of which are published by Pan.
