Marked Fabergé with the Imperial Warrant, Moscow, 1908-1917, with scratched inventory numbers 36861 and 36862
The bombé glass bodies cut with a stellar motif, each silver mount with cylindrical collar above a reeded ribbon-tied rim, with hinged lid with engraved Cyrillic initials AAE and a further inscription beneath, with ribbon-tied laurel wreath finial thumb-piece and angular handle, marked on collar and beneath cover
7 7/8 in. (20 cm.)
The inscription beneath the covers translates as '6th September 1915.' (2)
