Lot Essay

Edmund Daniel Kinzinger was part of the Uechtgruppe, or 'group of dawn', consisting of avant-gardist artists active in the 1920s in Stuttgart. The first exhibition of the Uechtgruppe was inaugurated by Oskar Schlemmer (1888-1943) at the Württembergische Kunstverein in Stuttgart. Christie's will also be selling a print by Kinzinger from the Hoh Collection in the next Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints sale in October 2008.
