signed 'Rodin' (below the right figure on the front of the base); inscribed with the foundry mark 'F.BARBEDIENNE, Fondeur FRANCE' (on the left side of the base)
bronze with green and brown patina
Height: 23½ in. (59.7 cm.)
Conceived in 1886, this version cast between 1910 and 1918.

Provenance

Harold and June Geneene, New York.
A gift from the above to the aunt of the present owner in the late 1960s, and thence by descent.
