A SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND NECKLACE, BY VAN CLEEF & ARPELS
Designed as a fringed bib, the front suspending eleven graduated oval cabochon sapphire drops, each within a two-tiered gold ropework surround embellished by circular-cut diamonds, to the flexible band of alternating circular-cut diamonds and circular and pear-shaped sapphires, each framed by gold ropework, mounted in 18k gold and platinum, 1956, 15½ ins., with French assay marks and maker's mark, (accompanied by a pair of contemporary pendants of similar design)
