Lot Essay

The 'Lucky Eight' cufflinks are so called because each of the gemstones used have a total carat weight that includes the number eight. The two emeralds together weigh 8.80 carats, the black diamonds amount to 1.08 carats and the baguette-cut diamonds weigh a total of 2.88 carats. The number eight is important for many religions and countries particularly in China where it is considered to be the luckiest of numbers as it is associated with prosperity and wealth.
