Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia was born in 1958 and grew up in the town of Versailles. Jewelry and jewelry design have always been his passions. It was his paternal grandmother who related firsthand the magnificence of the jewelry collection of her mother and grandmothers. His great-grandmother, Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia, had inherited all of the diamonds belonging to her mother, Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia, a collection renowned the world over for its lavish, exquisite breadth.
Prince Dimitri has been designing jewelry since 1999. The ear pendants are from an early collection consisting primarily of semi-precious stones. In 2008, he and partner, Todd Morley, founded Prince Dimitri Company at 5 East 57th Street in New York to showcase a high jewelry collection of one-of-a-kind pieces featuring innovative design, rare gems and other extraordinary materials.
