The Milgauss model was designed for use in fields of high electro-magnetism, such as laboratories and electro-engineering. When a mechanical watch is exposed to this level of magnetism, the movement will advance to a faster speed and in turn will need to be demagnetized. However, watches, like the present lot, were produced with the ability to resist 60 gauss (unit of magnetic flux density in a magnetic field), and as such were deemed to be antimagnetic.
