Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1949 and its subsequent sale on July 25th of the same year.

To the best of our knowledge the present watch has never before been offered in public.

Patek Philippe produced the reference 1543 from 1942 until approximately 1950. The oversized flared lugs have been referred to as Mickey Mouse lugs.
