Marked Fabergé, with the workmaster's mark of Mikhail Perchin, St. Petersburg, 1896-1903, scratched inventory number 9027
Rectangular with rounded corners, enameled in translucent strawberry red over a wavy guilloché ground, the ends with laurel-chased gold borders, one end fitted with a match strike, the hinged cover with a gold-mounted diamond thumb-piece, the interior of the cover with engraved inscription, 'Petersburg 1905', marked inside cover and base
