Oval pink gold box, the cover, side and base with three colour gold floral decoration in high relief, centred by translucent en grisaille enamel panels over engine-turned background, paste-set borders, the cover with three glazed circular apertures with paste-set borders revealing the paste-set three-arm balance and two white enamel dials for constant seconds and time display, enamel panel loose, the hour dial with Roman numerals, outer Arabic five minute divisions, skeletonized paste-set hands, gilt-finished movement, case stamped PC, movement signed Lechopié à Paris

The present gold box is made in the manner of the renowned watchmakers and goldsmiths Isaac Daniel Piguet (1775-1841) and Henry Capt (1773-1841), located in Geneva, specialised in musical and automaton watches, also for the Chinese market.
